Ashley has BLOWN UP the 'plus-size' community with her confidence, attitude and fierceness when it comes to showcasing who she is as a person with an added bonus (yes, bonus) of having curves. It has been so refreshing to see someone be so bold and unapologetic when it comes to being 'plus-size', and I am absolutely in love. If I had only had someone like her to look up to when I was younger, to understand that I only have one body and that I should love it no matter what, I'd have to say that life would have been a little bit easier. Easier in the sense that I would not have been afraid to wear what I wanted to wear, brush off negative comments better and really just love who I was as a human being. While I didn't have that then, it's awesome to have it now as an adult.
Ashley has taken the fashion world head on and has launched her own lingerie collection with Addition Elle, her own swimsuit collection with swimsuitsforall and even a dress collection for DressBar! Those three things aren't even the tipping point of her success, because she was also named the FIRST 'plus-size' woman to be featured on a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover! To imagine what she must have felt like when she sound out, I can think it was like fireworks going off in her head. Not only has she graced that cover, but she's been in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Glamour and now even has her own column in InStyle! She also just wrote an amazing article on body shaming and the critiques she gets everyday on being too big (WHEN SHE'S A SIZE 14) or that she looks too thin now that she's in the spotlight. It's heartfelt, honest and gives a hard look at the harshness of being in Hollywood and having everyone notice you.
With all of this being said, that is why Ashley is my style inspiration for the month of August! She has crossed boundaries and I cannot wait to see what she'll leap over next. For a snippet of what her style is like, make sure to watch this video she did of everything curvier women have been told not to wear. She takes every style and crushes it! Check out below how I would style an outfit inspired by Ashley.

P.S. I put quotation marks over the term 'plus-size' in regards to Ashley, because she does not see herself in that category, which I respect. She is a size 14! That is a totally average size for a woman in the United States, and I only want to use this term because I myself am definitely plus-size, and it's nice to have something to relate to when it comes to fashion.

She's the perfect mixture of timeless beauty, talent and warmth. These three things are exactly what make her my style icon for this month, and why she's been one of my favorite actresses since I first saw her in 'The Help.' Jessica Chastain has been gracing our consciousness for the past twelve years! We may not have seen everything until 'The Help', but she has twelve years of her acting abilities on screen, which also means that her style has evolved just as gracefully. Her impeccable style comes in many forms, whether it is on the red carpet, doing interviews or even when she's out and about doing normal activities. This woman knows she has great style and it's truly so much fun getting to see how she presents it.
Jessica's Instagram is a great place to see that and more of her casual wardrobe, but every now and then she'll put out something so chic and timeless that I'm itching to see what is next! While she is on the red carpet, she often tends to go for more floor length gowns that match her fiery hair and persona. For example, the black Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture dress that she wore to 'The Martian' premiere was so stunning and classically elegant. The glittery gown had a scooped neckline and structured bodice, to which she paired with emerald statement earrings and a wavy bob.
Black definitely goes well with her skin tone, and she proves that with her street style too. This black and white romper she wore while traveling through Heathrow, looked chic and comfortable. The color blocked outfit, made by Parker Kayasha, is just simply unique and flattering. It's so popular that it's sold out at Saks Fifth Avenue! Way to go, Jessica! You sure are a trendsetter, which is why you're my style icon for this month and why I had to create an outfit that I'd be sure you'd love to wear! Enjoy!

She's always changing, always ahead of the trends and has been one of my style icons since the early 2000's. Kirsten Dunst is unafraid to bare skin, switch her style almost every time she makes an appearance and has made some impeccable acting choices that call for beautiful costumes. These are just a few of my favorite looks she's ever worn, which are yours?

Today's Style Icon posts coincides perfectly with my Woman Crush Wednesday idea that I will be putting up on Instagram later today! The first time I heard of (or saw) Hayley Atwell was when she starred in the movie adaptation of 'Brideshead Revisited' with Matthew Goode, and then right afterwards was in the movie adaptation of 'The Duchess' with Keira Knightley! What a coincidence that she would star in two movies back-to-back with two of my favorite British actors?! This then turned into her being apart of one of the biggest movie franchises in the world, and it's all been love ever since. I seriously adore her, she is such a gem as Peggy Carter. I was waiting in severe anticipation for Agent Carter to be renewed, and I happily screamed when it was! Also, her Twitter is pure gold and I highly recommend you follow her!

Not only do I love her acting work, but her style has been something that has captured my eye along the way as well. She knows how to rock the red carpet down to a T, but she also REALLY knows how to do a casual look! You can tell she is aware of her body type, and has impeccable taste when it comes to dressing it. I've listed my six favorite looks of hers above that she's done over the years, it's fun to see we have similar tastes too. I can't wait to see what she plans to wear in the future!

"I really do see the good in people, and I don't want to change that. That's really how I view things, so sometimes I'll look past a lot of huge red flags because I see something else in someone. Then, of course, it always comes back to haunt me in the long run."
If you've ever read up or seen an interview on Jennifer Morrison, you'll just know that she is a ray of sunshine. She is passionate about her work, she loves her fans and she has an insane sense of style. The first project I saw her in was 'Urban Legends: Final Cut' and then I grew to absolutely love her in the movie 'Grind.' Her current role as Emma Swan in 'Once Upon A Time' is the best thing I've seen her in, she is perfect as that character and I don't think any other actress could give it justice. Not only is that show a dream for her, acting and character wise, but the costumes are absolutely to die for. The detail that goes into each costume, accessory and even the makeup is flawless. I can only imagine what it must be like to be able to dress up in a fairytale every day you go into work. Plus getting to be a strong, female lead (that grew up in foster care and is an even more well-rounded woman with her family now) makes me admire the character that much more. Her love interests aren't that bad either... ;)
I've noticed that while Ms. Morrison has been on the show, we've been able to see more and more of her impeccable style come to the forefront. Back in the day, her style was a little more bohemian and laid back but has since grown into sophisticated rocker chic. If I do say so myself... She's been invited to some fabulous fashion shows lately, and can always rock a great milkmaid braid when doing interviews. The looks above are just some of my all-time favorites, I mean even her street style is flawless! I'm absolutely excited to see what else she'll be wearing in upcoming press for the new season of OUaT and other events she's invited to. Thumbs up, Jennifer! I will always be a fan.
