It might not officially be spring yet, but the weather around here is proving otherwise. With it being in the 40s again, I'm feeling the vibes of grunge floral prints, pastel slipdresses, and barely there makeup. Channel your inner rock goddess with some of my favorite finds...

Grunge wouldn't be the trend it is without a pair of Doc Martens, especially in a Victorian floral print. A pair of platform sandals is also the perfect throwback, think Courtney Love or Penny Lane.

Who wouldn't want to rock a tiara? Along with a black choker, a glitter lips clutch, and black heart stud earrings!

Dreaming about this babydoll dress from Saint Laurent, and this more affordable floral babydoll dress from ChicWish.

Make a statement in this Dsquared2 sweatshirt. a Moschino moon and stars necklace, and a Chill Pill iPhone case cover.

Anna Sui nail polish in an iridescent color will have people seeing colors.

Also really love this slip dress that you could pair with a faux fur jacket!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! I hope your day is filled with love from the people around you, or just love for yourself like you deserve. I am ending my WEEK OF LOVE series on a sweet note, with some delicious Strawberry Jam Linzer Cookies! These are super easy to make and you more than likely have all the ingredients already in your cupboard and refrigerator. I went the easy route and bought a pre-made dough mix from the grocery store, it just was a lot faster than making my own.

 WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • (1 Bag) Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
  • (1/2 Cup) Softened Butter or Margarine
  • (1 TBSP) All-Purpose Flour
  • (1) Egg
  • (2) Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutters - 1 large, 1 small
  • (1) Rolling Pin
  • (1/3 Cup) Strawberry Jam
  • (1/4 Cup) Confectioner's Sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat oven to 375°F
  2. Stir Cookie Mix, Softened Butter, Egg and Flour in Medium Bowl until soft dough forms
  3. Shape dough into round ball, and cut in half.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out one half of dough to about 1/4 or 1/8th thickness. Cut out cookies with large heart-shaped cookie cutter. Use small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut a window out of half of cookies. Transfer cookies to prepared baking sheets.
  5. Repeat with remaining dough.
  6. Bake cookies in batches for 7-8 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  7. Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet. Cool completely on a wire wrack.
  8. Spread 3/4 tsp of jam on flat side of each cookie that does not have a window. Top with remaining cookies, flat side down, so jam is showing. Carefully sift Confectioner's Sugar over the top of each cookie.
  9. ENJOY!

"Say that you love me."
It's finally Friday, and my WEEK OF LOVE series is almost over. It's crazy how quickly this week has passed by, and if you've missed any of my other posts in this series, make sure to check out here, here, here and here! There's still time to shop my Gift Guide from yesterday, and even plan what you're going to wear with your date or gal pals. That brings me to today's Fashion Friday post, with another outfit option that has more than one use!

If you're working on Sunday, like I am, this blouse and pencil skirt combo would be the perfect way to transition from day to night! For this Valentine's Day inspired look, I went straight into my wardrobe (besides the new bra) and pulled out items that have been in it for awhile. These are all classic pieces that any girl should have; whether it's a white blouse, black pencil skirt or a comfortable pair of flats, these are staples. Not only will you impress your date or your gal pals, you'll feel fabulous knowing that you look good in everything you're wearing. Just an FYI though, if you're going to be working in this outfit make sure to button every button on your blouse, but feel free to let loose when you're going out.

We are now only four days away from the big celebration, and today's WEEK OF LOVE post is something I love to do during the holidays. What is better than creating a gift guide for those special people in your life, and obviously yourself? It's one of my favorite things to do here on Mostly Lisa and it always seems to be among the posts that generate the most viewers. For this year's Valentine's Day Gift Guide, I've decided to combine everyone into one general guide, instead of several throughout the week. The goal was to find three items that would be special for each person, and that would be unique to a holiday filled with romance. As you can see in my section, I'm a pretty basic chick and I don't require too much to be surprised with. Just give me some flowers and chocolate and I'll love you forever!

We're now officially halfway through the WEEK OF LOVE and today I'm talking about my beauty essentials for Feb. 14th. Since I'm slowly getting into more ways of applying makeup, I thought this would be perfect to show what I've been using on a day-to-day basis. These are some of the more basic ways to use makeup, I'm no makeup artist, and products that I truly enjoy using. You have to look good for yourself, or on your date, right?!

  • Purse - Betsey Johnson Cheetah Print Crossbody Bag (Similar): First things first, you're going to need something to keep all your beauty essentials in check! What better way than to find the a purse that not only does that, but is also going to look great with what you'll wear on the day of. It should be fun + flirty at the same time, and this cheetah print is the perfect way to bring both with complete ease.
  • Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer - Bath & Body Works London Tea Time Shortbread: Keep your hands germ-free on your date while smelling delicious! This version is extra sweet and based off my favorite city.
  • Mascara - almay one coat lengthening mascara: It's always helpful to have a tube of mascara handy throughout the night, even if it is long-lasting version. Get those lashes plump!
  • Lip Balm - Kiehl's Lip Balm #1: Make sure to keep your lips hydrated throughout the night, with a soothing lip balm that will protect you from the drying effects of the weather.
  • Lipsticks - Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte in Siren in Scarlet + Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in Blushing Bud: Having two types of lipsticks in your bag can be really helpful when trying to decide what look you're going for. I tend to opt towards the Siren in Scarlet shade, as it is this great pop of red and I instantly feel sexy in it.
  • Eye Brushes - e.l.f. Essentials Eye Shadow Brush + e.l.f. Essentials Defining Eye Brush: While you might apply your eye shadow at home, it doesn't hurt to have a pair of brushes in your purse to help reapply or fix throughout the night.
  • Concealer - Ideal Flawless Cream Concealer in Fair: For another way to refresh throughout the night, this concealer is lightweight and will continue even coverage with a silky finish.
  • Primer - Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer: This has been my favorite primer to use for the past year or so! It makes my skin feel super smooth and helps keep my makeup stay on longer than it ever has before. 8 hours of coverage!
  • Finishing Spray - NYX Makeup Setting Spray - I had never had a finishing spray in my makeup routine, but using this Matte version has really improved how long my makeup stays on. It keeps everything in place and gives you an extra boost of freshness. I highly recommend using this brand!
  • Towelettes - Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towlettes: Finally, you're at the end of the night and need to remove all the makeup you've applied. These towelettes are refreshing and are super effective at removing all the dirt and grime leftover. They're super soft and they're even gentle enough to use on the eyes.
  • Candy - BB-8 Valentine's Heart Tin Lollipops in Strawberry (similar): Treat yourself to some tasty candy, you deserve it! HOW CUTE IS THIS TIN?!
Most of all, just make sure to enjoy yourself and make the night something to remember. Thank you to everyone who has been joining in on this series, and I hope you enjoy what else is to come! Tomorrow I will be sharing some gifts to get your Valentine's, and make sure to check out my Instagram for posts that coincide with each day on here.

Today's WEEK OF LOVE post is all about finding ways to incorporate red into your wardrobe. While I'm always riding solo on Valentine's Day, it doesn't mean that I can't rock something extra sweet the day of. Being alone doesn't have to be a negative thing to attribute on V-Day, and I really like showing that in what I'm wearing. So wearing the color on the 14th has always been my favorite, and whether it is a dress, skirt, or top, I'm certain to find something that will match how I'm feeling. This year is no exception, so I wanted to find 10 ways to wear red that anyone could pull off!
1. A Midi Skirt
ASOS Curve Midi Pencil Skirt ($26): First up is something I would more than likely wear if I had it in my wardrobe. A red midi skirt is the perfect way to allow it to mix with colors, especially if it's the main color that you're aiming for. Made of stretch jersey fabric, this would be super comfortable to wear for a night out on the town with your gals!
2. A Fit-And-Flare Dress
Prove Your Groove Dress in Ruby Roses ($120): This dress is extra magical, and I've been eyeing it for awhile. This fit-and-flare dress is the perfect match for my body type and would definitely have me feeling romantic. The detail of the roses makes its so beautiful, and you'll definitely be turning heads with the daring neckline.
3. A Comfortable Shoe
Charlotte's Web Flat ($595): Not only do these flats look comfortable, but they're so cute! With inspiration of a book of the same name, these smoking flats have a embroidered web featuring a crystal spider. That gold heel is pretty fantastic as well!
4. A Fancy Top
Lace Babydoll Top ($39): This is just my type of top, as you can layer underneath it! I would definitely wear this on an everyday basis, as it is pretty versatile in the way you can style it. Not only can it show your romantic side, but pair it with the right edgy accessory, and you're one tough chick!
5. A Printed Scarf
that's a wrap ban.do scarf ($24): That's a wrap, indeed! A scarf is one of my favorite accessories and this would be such a perfect addition to any outfit. Don't want to wear all red? Just pop this on and you're good to go.
6. A Pair Of Cool Shades
Classic Vintage Wayfarer Sunglasses ($17): What's cooler than a great pair of Wayfarer shades? These vintage sunglasses would be perfect for an outdoor date with your gal pals!
7. A Beautiful Matte Lipstick
Redrum - Jeffree Star Cosmetics ($18): I'm all about matte lipsticks lately, and so this beautiful version by Jeffree Star has hearts in my eyes.  After watching him swatch this in one of his videos only made me want this shade even more. I will definitely be wearing a red lipstick on Sunday.
8. A Go-To Accessory
Red Heart Cross-body Purse ($38): HOW CUTE IS THIS? This adorable heart shaped cross-body bag will be perfect for keeping all your makeup and money somewhere safe. It even has a detachable silver strap!
9. A Sexy Lingerie Set
Serenity Underwire Cut Out Longline Bra ($96) + Serenity Lace Cut Out High Waist Brief ($77): Who doesn't want to feel sexy on Valentine's Day?! This lingerie set by Journelle will definitely get you feeling extra frisky, even if no one sees it but yourself.
10. Long-Lasting Nail Polish
Pillar Box Red Nail Lacquer ($15): butterLondon has always been one of my favorite nail polish brands, and I love how attainable it is to purchase now. This shade called 'Pillar Box' will get everyone asking you where you got your nails done!

If you saw my Snapchat story last week, you'll know I received this VoxBox from Influenster filled with fun goodies to get the new year started off right. The Cheers To You VoxBox has five products inside, and varies from person to person. I was lucky enough to get a set of shampoo + conditioner from Suave Professionals, a coupon for a free Hormel Taco Meat topping, an invite to a new health + wellness app called Yaye App, a bag of Way Better Snacks in the Sweet Chili flavor and Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution! I was so excited to get to try all of these products, so here is my unboxing and a review of each one!
Suave Professionals - Keratin Infusion Smoothing
Suave Professionals salon-inspired range of hair care products work as well as premium salon brands so that women can be live beautifully every day.
Above are my before and after photos of using the shampoo + conditioner I received. After one use I am hooked, as it has made my hair feel soft and it smells amazing. Combining both of these into a lather was very easy, and I felt like I was able to get good usage out of a small amount. I highly recommend trying this brand out, and I am definitely a #SauveBeliever now. Rating: 5/5
Hormel Taco Meat, Yaye App Exclusive Invite, Peony and Me Coupon

  • Introducing 100% naturally, fully cooked fresh Taco Meats from Hormel. Perfectly seasoned Chicken, Pork and Beef that go from fridge to taco in just minutes.
  • Yaye-group health & fitness motivation for small groups of family & friends. Get more active and healthy with your friends as you chat, share your progress and encourage each other.
These three items are definitely going to be something to give a try over the course of the year. The taco meat is going to most likely be delicious, Hormel makes pretty tasty products, and I'm thinking of giving the chicken a shot. As for the Yaye App, I'm trying to decide when and where this will happen. I really like the idea of getting motivation and encouragement from friends and family, and being able to track your progress on your phone. The extra item in this box was the Peony and Me coupon, and I'm guessing it goes along with the app. Rating: 3/5
Way Better Snacks - Sweet Chili
Way Better Snacks Sweet Chili tortilla chips are made with love and just enough sauce. Made with sprouted flax seeds, chia seeds and quinoa to feel even better about all that deliciousness.
I had never heard of this product before, but I was really excited to give it a try! It's definitely something I would not normally eat, as I don't really like spicy food, but this was pretty tasty. I would really like to try the other flavors, as they look and sound even better. Rating: 3/5
Dr. Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution Soothe & Sleep w/Lavender
Take good care of your body and mind by regularly soaking in Dr Teal's Pure Epsom Salt Soaking Solution. Epsom salts & herbal oils naturally relieve sore muscles and ease aches.
How did they know I enjoyed taking baths with natural ingredients?! This time though I decided to try one of the other ways you can use this product, which is to combine your favorite body wash and a handful of the salt. I scrubbed it on my right arm/shoulder to soothe my sore elbow and wrist. Overall it worked pretty well, but I think taking a bath would be more beneficial. Rating: 4/5

I received all of these products complimentary for testing purposes, so I thank Influenster for sending me this VoxBox and letting me try all of the products inside. If you've never heard of Influenster, they are a website that host different activities and programs with a variety of brands that send out products to be tested. You then participate in campaigns to earn badges and snaps, so you can participate in future testing programs. If you want to sign up yourself, let me know and I can give you a referral!
