It's one of those weeks where you keep trying and trying, but there's always something that ends up getting in the way of being successful in finishing what you need to do. I've been going through this for the last week and a half, but it's only been getting worse the past couple days. I don't know if it's lack of motivation or just being so tired after work, but I'm not happy with myself? Is anyone else feeling this way lately? I hope I'm not the only one.

This brings me to my inspiration for the post today.. just feeling the mood of all black everything. I think fall and black go hand in hand, and there's the easiness of being able to incorporate this color into every part of your wardrobe. You can be so many things with this color: sophisticated, romantic, sexy and classy. I love how it flatters any body type also. What's your favorite part of wearing black?!

Another weekend blew by too quickly, but it was sure a beautiful one. Hope you're all ready for a new week ahead and that life doesn't get too stressful.
  • As everyone in the fashion industry knows, for the past week and a half we've been seeing the lovely collections of NYFW go down the runway. Well, I've been non-stop posting my favorites on all of my social media and it's been a blast. Make sure to follow along with me while we go through the rest of LFW, MFW and PFW.
  • Could I be more excited about all the new possibilities of Pottermore?! Well, J.K. Rowling has revealed that we might get one more thing, taking a test to figure out what kind of patronus the viewer would have. So I ask you, what would your Patronus be?! I think mine would be a dog or possibly some type of fish.
  • Holy apple pie! I. need. to. try. this!
  • Idle Child is a Minneapolis-based boutique that I only just heard of this past Friday while attending a local fashion show at Orchestra Hall. The Fall 2014 collection was absolutely beautiful, it gave me some witchy vibes with its all black dresses and floppy hats. There were hearts in my eyes.
  • I love a good illustration, and it doesn't get any better than Inslee Haynes drawing some of her favorite looks from NYFW. Lela Rose was stunning!
  • While making a set last week, I came across the perfect scarf for me from ModCloth. It has a London background in black and white. I am so bummed that this scarf is already out of stock. I mean, it's so perfectly me!
  • Starbucks and fall just go hand-in-hand for me, and so this site is pretty amazing.
  • I've been on the search for some new boots for the season, and these are just the ticket.
  • Thank you, ASOS for creating such a beautiful dress that I can't afford! Someday.. someday.

Ahhh, Autumn. I swear, this season does something for me that the other seasons can't. It evokes strong, emotional feelings just by the change of temperature. That crisp, cool air just reminds me of being relaxed and not having to worry so much about the little things. Music is definitely a big factor in those feelings being brought out, and there's a sense of mystery to the songs I feel fit into the season. I like a strong voice singing a romantic ballad, or an enthusiastic banjo playing in the background. Some songs bring out the 'darker' side of me, and I can't help but fall in love with the melody that those riskier lyrics are penned on paper. Classical music is also fantastic to listen to when the windows are open and the sun is shining, or you may just feel like you're having a bad day. Hope you can at least feel one of these while listening to my playlist for Autumn 2014!

Make sure to check out my Spotify to listen to each track. I'd also love for you to follow along! Have a lovely weekend.

Always,
Mostly Lisa

"I really do see the good in people, and I don't want to change that. That's really how I view things, so sometimes I'll look past a lot of huge red flags because I see something else in someone. Then, of course, it always comes back to haunt me in the long run."

If you've ever read up or seen an interview on Jennifer Morrison, you'll just know that she is a ray of sunshine. She is passionate about her work, she loves her fans and she has an insane sense of style. The first project I saw her in was 'Urban Legends: Final Cut' and then I grew to absolutely love her in the movie 'Grind.' Her current role as Emma Swan in 'Once Upon A Time' is the best thing I've seen her in, she is perfect as that character and I don't think any other actress could give it justice. Not only is that show a dream for her, acting and character wise, but the costumes are absolutely to die for. The detail that goes into each costume, accessory and even the makeup is flawless. I can only imagine what it must be like to be able to dress up in a fairytale every day you go into work. Plus getting to be a strong, female lead (that grew up in foster care and is an even more well-rounded woman with her family now) makes me admire the character that much more. Her love interests aren't that bad either... ;)

I've noticed that while Ms. Morrison has been on the show, we've been able to see more and more of her impeccable style come to the forefront. Back in the day, her style was a little more bohemian and laid back but has since grown into sophisticated rocker chic. If I do say so myself...  She's been invited to some fabulous fashion shows lately, and can always rock a great milkmaid braid when doing interviews. The looks above are just some of my all-time favorites, I mean even her street style is flawless! I'm absolutely excited to see what else she'll be wearing in upcoming press for the new season of OUaT and other events she's invited to. Thumbs up, Jennifer! I will always be a fan.

I've officially caught the fall bug, y'all! It's slowly been creeping into my senses while the weather here has been changing. I cannot believe summer is almost over with, it doesn't feel like we even had the season. We may still have a couple weeks left until it's officially Autumn, but I'm so excited for the changing colors and crisp air that will be brought upon us. If the night air is going to be like it has been for the past couple days, I'm down for it to stay like that. Fall is always so refreshing to me, not only because of the weather, but because of the change in wardrobe and inspiration. Knee-high boots, rich colors and collared shirts are going to be the norm for me this season. I'm especially in love with J.Crew's fall collection, I mean that embellished boy shirt is to die for. It even comes in my size! I just have to find something similar that I can afford. Any suggestions?!
