Fall, my favorite season, is upon us in full force. In terms of music, it is set to be more moody and romantic. Think hauntingly good solos, classical pieces that can transport you to another place and lyrics that are reminiscent of past loves. Please, enjoy this mix as much as I do.

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend was lovely and full of the new fall colors. Mine was particularly enjoyable as I went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday with my family. It's always a treat to step back in time to good food, fairies, mermaids and hand-crafted goods. There's a lot more to it than just those things, but they're some of my favorites! Make sure to look for a new Fashion Friday this week with some photos from the adventure. But for today, I hope you enjoy all these links below!
  • Before anything, I have to link to this absolutely adorable sweater on ASOS that I am buying the instant I get paid this week. It literally has ghosts as elbow patches. GHOSTS, PEOPLE! Not only are they the cutest tiny ghosts, they're sequined. Sign me up!
  • Minnesota Fashion Week might have ended, but Mall of America will be hosting a really awesome week full of fashion + art-related events that are mostly free to the general public. I'm really excited to be working during a lot of these, and to be able to see what they have to offer. To get the full details of when each event is happening, just click here!
  • MOA also released their Fall Look Book for 2015, and it's full of fall fashion and style that you can find around the Mall.
  • Need a new wallpaper for your phone or computer? ban.do has some of the cutest ones that you can download for free! I personally really enjoy this one right now.
  • Have you been following along during Fashion Week with me? I've been sharing my favorite looks from the Spring 2016 RTW runways through all my social media! Make sure to continue along with me, using #mostlylisa(then whatever city is happening) to see what I'm liking. I can't wait until #PFW starts, the city hosts some of my favorite designers.
  • I can't make a decision on what boots I want to get. Help me? These or these?!
  • Lupita Nyong'o for Vogue October 2015? Yes, please!
  • If you haven't participated in the #dubsmaswars2015 yet, I highly recommend you do! Hayley Atwell + James D'arcy of Agent Carter and Chloe Bennet + Clark Gregg of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D have been going head to head in a championship to win the Dubsmash War of 2015! I'm very much #TeamCarter, and I'm pretty excited to see who they pull to be in their final video round. WHO WILL WIN? Go watch the beginning of this on the website, and decide who you want to see succeed (even though they both will because of the money raised for their chosen charities) and be declared the victor!
  • Finally I'm very happy it's fall now, and am so excited that it's going to be October soon!

To be completely honest, I've been severely lacking in inspiration to post lately. There is just not the motivation in me to want to work on putting something together for people to see. I know everyone gets into these types of funks, but is anyone feeling this way right now? The content I want to create, the copy I want to type and the images I want to use are just not flowing together. Today's post just happened to come together late one night last week, and I still didn't post it because I couldn't think of what to say. Here we are though, and I hope it works.

This month has been fairly decent, and I'm excited for it to finally be fall. September is easily one of my favorite months and there can be a lot of things to inspire you, if you take the time to look. For me it's all about fashion, nature, photography and beauty. Everything is casually changing into something new, something more romantic and I'm all for it. What is inspiring you? Let me know in the comments.

As I've been growing and expanding my own daily beauty routine, I've also been keeping a lookout on upcoming trends that I can incorporate into it. What better way to start fresh, then with a new season?! The thing I personally enjoy about fall beauty is how dark and romantic it can be. Colors are richer, layering becomes a must and makeup becomes more sensual. Whether you have a dark lip, a sassy cat-eye or a messy side braid, it's all unique to what you want it to be. There are so many ways that you can make any of these trends your own, and I think that's what is really special about beauty!
1. The bohemian braid
  • Similar to a braid crown, the bohemian braid is messier and tousled more. The perfect plait is something that will probably never got out of style. Designers, like Mara Hoffman, chose this messy braid to enhance her modern bohemian aesthetic down the runway. It's such a great hairstyle because you can wear it anywhere!
2. Dark lips
  • The dark lips trend is going nowhere soon. It's more powerful than ever, especially with the current obsession with bring back the 70s & 90s beauty trends. Think glam mixed with a bit of grunge, that makes for a seriously impressive aesthetic. The must with this trend is to make sure that you find the right shade for you by testing, testing, testing! The best way I've seen this trend done is with a matte lipstick, because I think it brings out the color better and can be a really romantic. Marc Jacobs obviously had this trend down pat.
3. Graphic cat eye
  • We've all attempted to do the cat eye before, and were successful or failed miserably at it. Me being the latter, I was excited to hear that there is a new take on it. Take the classic cat eye, and tweak it into something more graphic. Linear lines right across the eyelid, for more of a straight sweep away from it. Anna Sui took this trend to elongate and lift the eye to add a more sensual effect to the face.
4. Don't feel flushed
  • This trend is something I can already acquire easily with my fair skin, but it's also becoming something a lot of makeup artists are trying to achieve for their models. J.Crew was a great example of creating this flushed look, as if the models were coming off the slopes and into a warm cabin. Pssh, I can achieve this look any day I want!
5. Shades of brown
  • Metallic may have been the popular eye shadow, but it's time to move aside for a new diva to come through! Many artists for fall opted for bronze to cover the lids. Not only does it warm the face up, but it can be paired with any other of these trends seamlessly. Marchesa chose this bronze trend for their show, and even paired it with the red lip!
 6. Embrace the red
  • Who can really say no to a red lip? The palette range for the lip during fall is all about a stained wine red all the way to a saturated cherry. This exciting trend was seen in several shows, my favorite would have to be Dolce & Gabbana. Paired with their aesthetic made the lip stand out in a super romantic way.

Today's chosen designer in my Designer Spotlight series is a familiar face to Mostly Lisa! Luisa Beccaria is not only one of my current favorite designers, but one that I've been closely watching for the past couple years. The Italian designer mixes elegance and romance so perfectly in her collections, and finds inspiration from several of my favorite fashion eras. One of her most recent collections for Fall 2015 is the best blend of all of those qualities. From the silhouettes, the accessories and even the makeup, it all combines together for an ode to the 1940s!
From a tidbit on NYMag.com, "Milan-born Beccaria launched her line of sweet, ruffled cocktail dresses in 1979, sticking to ultrafeminine cuts in soft textures. Ignoring trends and sticking to her signature flouncy dresses in frothy tiers and floral prints, Beccaria’s designs remain constant in their romantic vision for women. Hollywood A-listers round out her fan base." She is sure to continue to do all of this for years to come!

Today's These Things is otherworldly! Because the moment I saw this editorial for the September issue for Vogue Italia, my jaw literally dropped. This is a major reason why I love fashion, the way it can make you feel the moment you lay eyes on a collection or a photograph. I don't normally gasp for breath after seeing an editorial for a magazine, but this one is pretty special. If you follow me on any social media, you know that I've already referenced the Fall 2015 Haute Couture collection from Valentino. It was probably the most beautiful collection I've seen in a long time, if not ever. The way they put this whole atmosphere together a series of photos is breathtaking, and it has strong 'Game of Thrones' vibes. I don't even watch that show, but I can dig it and see where people can think that. I mean, look at these photos! Fabrizio Ferri captures Leila Nda, Sofia Tesmenitskaya, Grace Simmons & Yana Van Ginneken perfectly.

We’ve magically transitioned into September, and I have no idea how we got here. Days have been blurring together and I can’t believe we’re almost done with this year?! I’m quite excited though that we’re now going to be wearing more layers, pairing outfits with fun boots and I’m generally very enthusiastic about the overall aesthetic of fall. Is anyone else agree that this season is by far the prettiest of them all? I’m in my element during this time, and fashion is just an adding factor to all of it. Like I did last year, I’ve rounded up 13 items that are essential to me. This year is a little different, I’m looking into more beauty items and accessories that I would not normally wear. There’s always room to change and a new month is a great time to do so. Shop all the links below!
