Not only are these must-haves for the spring but they are all at the top of my wish list right now. Needing to break out of the funk that is called winter...There is literally no end in sight for Minnesota as we are getting more snow on Thursday and colder temps. Can I tag along with someone in their suitcase if they're going somewhere warm? I just, I need to get out of here and feel the sunshine on my face. But I digress and will get back to the subject matter of this post. These items are all things that I think will make spring extra special this year. That Kate Spade bag? Yeah, I need it for my 25th birthday which is coming in 3 months. Sooooo maybe someone can get on that for me. In the meantime, I am eyeing those pants for my next paycheck. Wednesday, get here faster! Oh and the Peter Pan collar top is on sale right now at the J.Crew Factory site!

There always seems to be a trend that constantly comes back for every season, whether it's plaid, polka dots or anything in between there's something that consistently is seen down the runway. Gingham is one of these trends and let's just say I'm quite addicted to it.

Since it's the first day of spring, how fitting, I thought I'd share some of my favorite gingham items that will be perfect for this most refreshing season. This trend always seems to take the lead for spring, i.e.; you seem them literally everywhere in picnic accessories, and when it comes to clothing they can make a bold statement. Big crossed-hatched lines can easily be mixed with a bold color or other prints. The main reason I love this trend is because it instantly makes me think of retro glam! Imagine Bridget Bardot or Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz! You can easily find bikinis and dresses that rock this classic print in modern flirty ways and designers have updated the print by mixing it in different colors.

What do you think of gingham? Would you mix it into your wardrobe this season?

Today's Fashion Friday is all about finding the best pair of denim for your body type. Since I am a curvy fashion blogger, I am always on the hunt to find the best pair that will be flattering for my figure. While I have my go-to places that consistently have plus sizes, i.e; Old Navy, H&M, Forever21, I like to look at other online destinations that are affordable and have good quality. This outfit today has denim from Old Navy, which are super comfortable and make me feel good while wearing them. Since denim can go with everything, I decided to pair it with something flirty and perfect for spring! This kimono from H&M is a recent purchase and I am absolutely in love with it! It's for sure going to be something I wear a lot this season.

Like I said before, I've wanted to look at other places that have plus size fashion and so I've rounded some of my favorite denim picks from them! Enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

Today I thought I would talk about a favorite trend of mine that I love to incorporate a little bit everyday into my outfit choices. This 'rocker chic' look, when you really can go all out and feel bad ass when your out and about. I love this mix of pairing stripes and leather together, it just perfectly meshes well together. Saint Laurent had a perfect inspiration photo for this post, and I thought I'd play off three different ways you could bring this style into your wardrobe. Now, I'd definitely wear longer leather skirts but if you have the legs to pull off wearing minis, you go girl! I wish I had known that this 'punk' look could be so stylish when I was younger. I would have taken several better cues as to how to dress in high school. Yes, I did go through that phase when I was younger and to be honest with you I am not ashamed I did. Anyways..... I love that this trend also plays on other ones (i.e. black & white, leather being an investment piece, etc.) and isn't afraid to take risks. So go and be your bad self and I will be right there with you rocking out with you!

Happy Monday! Wanted to try something a little different today and thought I'd round up some of my favorite links that I've clicked on this past week.

This mix I found through 8tracks is a perfect way to transition into spring. There are some absolutely fantastic uplifting songs on here and they instantly remind me of my favorite season. It starts with some upbeat songs and slowly moves into laid back and thoughtful beats. Go listen!

The Everygirl's apartment tour of fellow Minneapolis native, Katie Arends! I'm so jealous of how clean and white her place is, can I move in? It's also fun to see her answers to such interesting questions.

'All of Me' by John Legend is a must listen to for this month. It's poetically beautiful and his voice is like buttah!

Be Here Now, and be positively present.

This perfect iPad Air giveaway hosted by fellow HCN blogger, Lush to Blush! Thank you, Megan for hosting and sharing with your readers!

This absolutely stupendous and beautiful shoulder bag by Kate Spade. I'm just saying, if anyone wants to get this for me on my 25th birthday, I will love you for forever.

St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charms cupcakes.... 'Nough said!

A fantastic article by Levo League on how women rule social media. Hell yeah we do!

The best start to buying for my spring wardrobe, this ASOS dress by Lucabella.

Finally, the most adorable flats ever by Anthropologie. Their name? The Ribbon-Wrapped D'Orsays.. Just look at them!

March is zooming by already and we're finally getting closer to my favorite season. Spring will hopefully be here before we know it and along with it comes those lovely rain and thunderstorms! To be prepared for this new weather change, I've rounded up some of my favorite raincoats that will be perfect for this season. London Fog, which makes incredible trenchcoats, has a new collab they just released yesterday with several different designers. The one featured, made by Chris Benz, is my absolute favorite! Take a look at an early design sketch and some other more affordable choices.

BEST DRESSED WINNER: EMMA WATSON in Vera Wang

Hi guys! You might remember there was a huge awards show this past Sunday? Well, if you weren't able to catch it you can have a recap today! I'm talking all about the red carpet fashion and my absolute favorites that I saw while watching. I've narrowed it down to my Top 10 and the winner of the night, for me, was Emma Watson who wore a gorgeous pewter Vera Wang dress. I just.... I was absolutely blown away once I saw her walk down the carpet. She never fails to amaze me with her fashion choices and this was no different. I loved her presenting with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and being able to actually be apart of the award show. Everything down to her nail polish worked for me and was such a perfect grand entrance into this arena.

These top three contenders are the other ones who stood out to me. I mean, Lupita in that sky blue dress? She was literally Cinderella that night. I also couldn't forget the men who showed up and then I touched on some beautiful looks at the viewing parties and after parties! Enjoy!  Happy 1st of March everyone! It's very hard to believe we're already in the third month of 2014 and quickly approaching spring! I, for one, am very happy about this revelation and wanted to share a great trend to make the transition into the new season super easy for you all.

Hunter green. That's what fashion experts are saying is the 'it' color for this upcoming season and I'm pretty happy about it. While some of you might think of it as being more of a fall color, it instantly makes me think of St. Patrick's Day and all things Irish, so you can't really go wrong in that area. In Lucky magazine's March issue, Alexis Bryan Morgan says, "It's sort of...the new oxblood." She also says that you can mix and contrast the color with brighter pastels, or a great hue of navy to give it a richer feel. The other benefit of this great color is that it also goes with the official color for 2014, Radiant Orchid and I personally like mixing navy and green together so I think I am definitely going to incorporate it into my wardrobe when I am able to finally update it for this season. Check out some great runway looks that featured this color and then I put together a fun outfit that I am thinking of buying in a heartbeat!
