With help and inspiration from the Jenni Kayne Resort 2016 collection, this Spring Staple is sure to be a classically cool addition to your wardrobe. The white shirtdress is easy, breezy and right on trend for this spring (and summer!) This traditional style has been a favorite of classic style icons for years, and has only just become a favorite of mine. So much so, that I had purchased a chambray shirtdress from Old Navy and I actually wore it yesterday! I love this staple piece because you can dress it up or down, and who doesn't love something that is multi-functional? I've put together four different outfits that can be worn this spring, so shop below!
OUTFIT #1: Nieves shirtdress | Bayside Heel | Moto Denim Jacket | Shiny Serpent Envelope Clutch | Nebular Collar
OUTFIT #2: Le Poplin shirtdress | Two-Piece Block Heel Sandals | Italian Sheer Silk Blue Neck Scarf | Flavor of the Month Ticket Coin Purse | Dazzling Daises Necklace | Cute Gold Bracelet
OUTFIT #3: Floral embellishment cotton shirtdress | Army Green Military Coat | Mini Fold Over Crossbody Bag | Vans Slip-on Sneakers
OUTFIT #4: Oversized Shirt Dress | Double Strap Sling-Back Sandal | Red Watermelon Clutch | Coal Considered Seaside Hat | White Leather Strap Watch

The BFF Nicole and I had set on going to a familiar place here in the Twin Cities, The Copper Hen, with an added bonus of getting to dress up. The task of finding a dress that would fit the occasion came on a whim, and I ended up finding a Plus Size Deep-V Midi Dress from Forever 21. It was definitely not something I would normally purchase, but it ended up pairing really nicely with an Old Navy Plaid Pocket Tee (similar) I had on hand! What a slimming option both of these were, and I felt so comfortable having it cover most of my stomach and legs. The statement necklace and pair of flats were a must to go with this, and my favorite red lip added a nice festive touch.
This was such a magical night! Especially being able to be with my BFF, exchange gifts, be in a beautiful setting and be able to eat some delicious food. It made the ending of the holiday season that much better, and had my hopes for a positive New Year. I hope that all of you were able to do the same, and if you weren't, listen to Zara Larsson! You'll get an instant dose of happiness!

It's officially the very last Monday of 2015, and I'm extremely weirded out by this fact. What better way to get prepared for the upcoming new year, than with one more round up of links I've found interesting throughout the last week or so. Enjoy, and here's to even more of these next year!
- A new year obviously calls for a new calendar! I'm so torn between this one from Rifle Paper Co. or this one from Anthropologie. Which one would you choose?
- Adele on the cover of Time Magazine? Bow down to the queen!
- While I may not be doing anything for NYE, party wise, these festive cocktails from The Glitter Guide definitely have me wanting to stay home and make fun drinks!
- That one time where I actually felt like a model... I had to capture it.
- Reem Acra's Pre-Fall 2016 collection was moody and romantic, just the way I like it.
- This dress though!
- What an interesting read from Levo League, on how to unplug for 24 hours. I have no idea if I would be able to do that, but it's definitely something to try next year.
- Free People has their downloadable calendar up for next month! So pretty, and still so crazy to me that we'll be in another year.
- Can't. Get. This. Song. Out. Of. My. Head.
- This print by the FoxandWild shop on Etsy is beyond gorgeous. Need it in my life.
- Sweater Weather Braids is a real thing, and they're pretty great. Enjoy this tutorial by blogger Kassinka.

I wasn't too fond of this color when I first saw it, but it's slowly growing on me. Especially since it reminds me so much of like a cranberry/burgundy color.. but nonetheless! Marsala is officially the color of 2015, which means that you can easily incorporate it into your wardrobe throughout the seasons! A seductive and classy color that is definitely inspired by wine, and is super versatile for any skin color. Check out these rich Marsala looks from designers Burberry Prorsum, No. 21 and Valentino.
The executive director for Pantone, Leatrice Eiseman, said in a press release that the color will bring us back to simpler times: "This tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness." Marsala is definitely more of a rich color, but what I like about it for spring is that it is more neutral and you can mix and match with it. There are so many different hues that the color comes in, you can dress it up or dress it down! Here's an outfit I would put together if I chose to opt for Marsala! What do you think of this Color of the Year?!

"I had a little hen, the prettiest ever seen, she washed me the dishes, and kept the house clean. She went to the mill to fetch me some flour, she brought it home in less than an hour. She baked me my bread, she brew'd me my ale, she sat by the fire and told many a fine tale."

Happy Friday ladies! Today's Fashion Friday comes to you from two different places in the Twin Cities that I explored this week with my BFF! First up, we went to this adorable new cakery and kitchen called The Copper Hen located in Minneapolis! Their whole décor is just so adorable, they have exposed walls with bits and pieces of this lovely wallpaper painted on more pronounced places. I'm all about toile wallpaper and this print is just the ticket. The food is delicious, you can tell it's all homemade and fresh when you order. They even have gluten-free and vegetarian options! Then we headed over to Lake Harriet, which is also in Minneapolis, and took a stroll down the long and winding paths that go around the entire lake. I may have been a bit over dressed but, who cares?! I love this dress that I found on a super sale at Gap several weeks ago, it's just perfectly me. With tropical leaves and flowers, it comes in a gorgeous green and blue combo. I have to say I've NEVER received more compliments on wearing something than I do when I wear this dress. It makes me feel so good, that I just want to keep wearing it. I like pairing it with a shorter cardigan, one of my favorite necklaces from Old Navy, and then a nice pair of flats. Can you believe it though?! I actually wore something that shows leg! I was so proud of myself, haha. I'm definitely now a huge fan of the fit and flare dresses, as I think it's more flattering for my body type and I feel so comfortable in it. What do you guys think?!
Have a great weekend!

I'm really excited to share and talk about today's post! I was recently approached by DUO Shoes to take part of a competition called 'From Day to Night' where I have to style two outfits that could easily transition with the same pair of shoes. With so many options to choose from, I had to go with my gut and choose a pair that I knew I would wear pretty much all the time. The ones that stuck out to me the most were these adorable Zola sandals, that were already styled perfectly on their website! The other great part of these sandals is that they do come in a wider width, so after that, I knew I had to get them! Then it was onto the mission I needed to complete, but what would I want to wear the most in this challenge? Where would I wear these sandals where I could easily transition into both situations?

OUTFIT #1: Blazer: Forever21 (old) | Blouse: H&M | Tank: Old Navy | Denim: Old Navy | Necklace: Old Navy (store only) | Bag: Urban Outfitters (old)
The first outfit is something I would wear to work, out with friends, or some place casual. I love pairing denim with a nice blazer, and then having a neutral color underneath. I'm all about basics, so this outfit is something I would wear a lot. I think the sandals compliment it nicely and they make the outfit youthful!

OUTFIT # 2: Cardigan: Target | Dress: H&M (store only) | Necklace: Old Navy (store only) | Bag: Urban Outfitters (old)
The second outfit is one of my favorites. I just purchased this gorgeous floral dress from H&M for Easter, and thought it'd be great to showcase it in this challenge. I will definitely be wearing this dress a few times this spring/summer, since it's super comfortable and is very flattering on my body. I think it pairs nicely with the sandals too and spices them up a little bit.
I just want to say thanks to DUO for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to be apart of this challenge, it was a lot of fun and I love the sandals so much. If you haven't heard of DUO, go check them out on Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter! Make sure to let me know if you happen to purchase a pair, I'd love to see what you get.
P.S. Thanks to my sister, Melissa, for taking these photos. You were VERY helpful.

OUTFIT: Blazer: Forever21 | Blouse: H&M | Pants: Gap | Shoes: Given To Me | Bag: ODLR for Target | Ring: Anjolee Jewelry
Happy Friday! Well, as much as it can be happy since we just received a whole ton of snow. Isn't it supposed to be rain showers that bring flowers? Not snow?! Anyways, for today's Fashion Friday I wanted to take photos outside but since it's cold and wet I figured I would stick inside. Today's outfit is inspired by mixing casual and dressy together.. I am really digging pairing blazers and more laid back pants or denim together. I know the trend has been around for awhile, but I'm just slowly getting it. Haha. Sorry the low quality photos, yet again, but I am trying my hardest. I can't believe I wore heels with this outfit since I usually feel like a giant in them, but I liked how they paired nicely with the pants. Another reason I am doing this post today is because of a great company that reached out to me through here! Anjolee Jewelry is a high-end jewelry manufacturer that allows you to customize your jewelry to whatever you like. They make all their own jewelry and they've been around since 1977! All of the customer service I received from this company has been super great and they've only been very friendly. I received this bridal set ring as payment for reviewing this great company! I decided to style it up with this outfit since it's not too overwhelming and it's a gorgeous topaz gemstone, my favorite!
Go check out Anjolee and tell them Mostly Lisa sent you! Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
