I am ALWAYS down to watch a movie that is based in Autumn, or that has Autumn in it, so I wanted to create a list of movies that are some of my absolute favorites! I love the bright, colorful moments that happen in movies with this season. They're so much fun to watch and sit back on a moody, rainy night in October with someone special. So please, feel free to read through and let me know what you're watching this time of year!

Stepmom (1998)

A terminally-ill woman must deal with her ex-husband's new lover, who will be their children's stepmother.

Pride & Prejudice (2005)

Sparks fly when spirited Elizabeth Bennet meets single, rich, and proud Mr. Darcy. But Mr. Darcy reluctantly finds himself falling in love with a woman beneath his class. Can each overcome their own pride and prejudice?

Little Women (2019)

Jo March reflects back and forth on her life, telling the beloved story of the March sisters - four young women, each determined to live life on her own terms.

You've Got Mail (1998)

Book superstore magnate, Joe Fox and independent book shop owner, Kathleen Kelly fall in love in the anonymity of the Internet both blissfully unaware that he's trying to put her out of business.

Hocus Pocus (1993)

A curious youngster moves to Salem, where he struggles to fit in before awakening a trio of diabolical witches that were executed in the 17th century.

Halloweentown (1998)

When a young girl living with her good-witch grandmother learns she too is a witch, she must help her grandmother save Halloweentown from evil forces.

Goonies (1985)

A group of young misfits called The Goonies discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate's long-lost treasure.

Dead Poet's Society (1989)

Maverick teacher John Keating uses poetry to embolden his boarding school students to new heights of self-expression.

Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble;
Something wicked this way comes!

Happy Halloween, everyone! All Hallows Eve has creeped up on us fast and the spooky holiday is in full swing. In my house, we'll be ready to hand out candy to the trick or treaters, watch a few classic movies and be listening to some freaky tunes all night long. I cannot believe we're already at the end of October, but I'm going to maintain my festive spirit for the week ahead with a new My Style File post!

If any of you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me freaking out over the new flannel I purchased from Cakeworthy's Halloween 2016 collection. The fandom-inspired, fairy tale favorite company makes these really adorable flannels, shirts and pins for people of all ages. I found out about them last year after doing some research through some hashtags, and was instantly hooked. So much so that I ended up buying my first flannel from them, which I didn't end up getting until Christmas. It made for a unique holiday season, that's for sure. For Halloween they focus a lot on 'Hocus Pocus' and other Disney-related fandom. This year, I decided to go for their 'Harry Potter' flannel that features the words 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' on the back. I mean, how cute is that?! It instantly got me inspired to do a photo shoot featuring it with an extra creepy setting. Luckily the Twin Cities has quite a few PERFECT spots to set the mood! I ended up choosing Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis that actually has quite important meaning to my family and I. With the help of another local blogger, we found the perfect time to take some photos in this beautiful place. Definitely got me in the mood for all things Halloween, and I hope it does for you as well. Stay safe tonight!

It'll be upon us in two days, which makes me beyond excited because I'll be dressing up as Ms. Frizzle from the Magic School Bus! Each gift above is something I've been eyeing for awhile, and is the perfect mix of creepy and fun. I hope they get you into the festive mood as much as they have for me. What/who are you going to be this year? Let me know in the comments!

10 MOVIES THAT MAKE MY HALLOWEEN

ONE: Ginger Snaps (2000)
Sam: Biology, now there's something you can sink your teeth into, so to speak. You're real. Your problem is real. The solution is real.

TWO: Halloweentown (1998)
Aggie Cromwell: Being normal is vastly overrated.

THREE: The Haunting (1963)
Theodora: Haven't you noticed how nothing in this house seems to move until you look away and then you just... catch something out of the corner of your eye?

FOUR: Hocus Pocus (1993)
Winifred Sanderson: Sisters, All Hallow's Eve has become a night of frolic, where children wear costumes and run amok!

FIVE: Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Lady Van Tassel: Watch your heads.

SIX: Casper (1995)
Amelia Harvey: James, I know you have been searching for me, but there's something you must understand. You and Kat loved me so well when I was alive that I have no unfinished business, please don't let me be yours.

SEVEN: Paranormal Activity (2009)
Katie: I feel it. I feel it breathing on me.

EIGHT: Beetlejuice (1988)
Beetlejuice: Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?

NINE: Under Wraps (1997)
Amy: Must be my new conditioner. It attracts dead guys.

TEN: The Others (2001)
Mrs. Mills: Sometimes the world of the living gets mixed up with the world of the dead.

In honor of Halloween happening this Friday (!)....I decided to do something a little different for today's post. I'm a huge sucker for a good comedy, thriller, mystery or suspense film and this time of year for cinema is just the perfect mix of all of these. The storytelling in any of these movies has to be interesting and compelling for the viewer, and I think most of these hit on some type of emotion or trigger some type of response after watching them. Nostalgia is a big feeling I get with almost half of these, while others are just excitement after being scared. I like being shocked after a huge reveal, so Paranormal Activity & The Others are just the ticket.

If you're a 90s kid, like me, you'll obviously enjoy those Disney movies that aired on the big screen (Hocus Pocus, Casper) and the ones that showed on a Friday night (Under Wraps, Halloweentown)  and were 'Original's' at the time. My all-time favorite movie to watch during this time of year is Ginger Snaps. It's just the perfect amount of teenage angst, shtick, gore, fitting into the Indie genre and NSFW-language. I don't even remember the first time I watched this movie, but I was instantly hooked. I guess you could say I was 'bitten'.... ;)

Make sure to click each number and watch the trailers for each movie! Let me know which one you want to watch this Halloween, or any others that pique your interest.

Hi guys! It's been awhile, but life has been stressful (nothing new there) and I have been going through the motions. Working hard, or hardly working. Hope you all had a great Halloween! I ended up handing out candy to some really cute Trick or Treaters, and then went to a bar with one of my good friends from school! I dressed up as a 'Happy Witch', but who gets shit done. It was a great night, and I saw some perfect costumes.

As October is now over, we're moving into colder months that will eventually lead to snowfall and being able to see your breath outside. You have to make sure you dress appropriately during this time, but you can still look super chic while being bundled up to keep warm. While I currently do not own anything in this fabric, suede is a great place to start and I think that it is very weather appropriate. The term "suede" actually comes from the French "gants de Suède", which literally means "Swedish gloves." While it may be a trend for fall, I also think that it can easily transition into winter. Suede is mostly seen in gorgeous trench coats, especially in Burberry's fall 2013 collection, and slouchy bags that you can wear through the seasons. Luxurious browns and tans are some of the best ways to wear suede, but you can also mix it up with some great color. So do any of you own suede? I would definitely love to own my own Burberry trench, but that is a dream for the very far future. So now, enjoy some great looks!
