March 17th is finally here! Yes, one of my favorite holidays of the year is upon us and I'm getting ready to celebrate. I've been a bit behind on doing so - I usually dedicate this entire week to preparing for the big day, but I've been a bit of a slacker this year. That being said, I had to at least post something that honors the day and I figured I'd share some ideas on how to go green for St. Patrick's Day! If you're in the need of finding someway to incorporate the color into your outfit, or just the day in general, here are five ideas to get you started!
1. Avoid getting pinched - This is by far the easiest way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, and a must for anyone who is Irish or just loves the color green. You don't want to get pinched, right? Find anything, literally anything, that is green and wear it! For example, this cashmere scarf would be a lovely subtle accessory to your outfit.
2. Get crafty - If you're looking for a little D.I.Y. this year - look no further than your own supply drawer or craft table. From cake toppers, streamers or even clover crowns, you'll be sure to find something fun to put together on the 17th.
3. Find a recipe - Anybody remember the cupcakes I made last year?! You will have no trouble finding a similar recipe - like green popcorn or another version of a green cupcake!
4. Get your nails done - Make your nails pop with a hint of green! There's no need to go overboard, so keep it classic and clean like @camizzle did on Instagram.
5. Drink up - If you don't drink on St. Paddy's Day, are you really celebrating properly? From green beer, Jell-o shots or even green + gold margaritas, there is no shortage of any alcohol-related drinks to choose from.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
Get ready for one special Friday Fancy this week and the last one for this year! Why is this one so special? Well, there just so happens to be one festive holiday coming up this Sunday. Yes, Christmas is going to be here in TWO DAYS! Where has this month - no, wait, this year gone to? I'm slowly believing that time is just an illusion and we're just living in some type of snow globe or sand timer that quickly flips up and down. Anyways, I'm not taking this weekend for granted and I'm looking forward to spending it with my family. Tonight I get to pre-celebrate with my sister and her family at their house, which means we get to watch some movies and watch my nephews open up their presents. Best Friday night ever! It's going to be a pretty low key Saturday and Sunday after that, but I'm going to spoil my parents and cook breakfast on Christmas morning. French toast, bacon + mimosas? Yes, please.
After the relaxing weekend and joyous festivities, look out for some posts next week on how to celebrate New Year's Eve! I'm going to be sharing outfit ideas, some decor options + so much more. See you then, and most of all - Happy Holidays to you and yours! xoxo

What is your favorite way to stay warm? Is it lounging in comfortable sweaters, putting on a nice pair of wool socks, putting layers upon layers on or having a jacket or coat that also doubles as a fashion piece? While I may be partial to all of the above, I'm currently on the hunt for the latter and I'm more than excited about it. The weather has been unusually warm for this time of year, but that doesn't mean the urge to put on that stylish bundle of fabric when I go outside. If I buy one major piece for winter this year, it's definitely going to be a jacket or coat. There are so many options to choose from, but here are five that have stood out among the rest!

FRIDAY FANCY: TO KEEP WARM

What is your favorite way to stay warm? This week has been a whirlwind of emotions, but the one feeling that has really stood out to me is one that I got at the beginning of this week. Just let me say I'm glad this one popped up then, because excitement is definitely something you want to feel on a Monday! The reason why I was so excited? The Baking & Strobing Brush Set by Sigma Beauty was dropped into my lap (and now my beauty routine) on the day that it launched! This is HUGE, so unexpected and I haven't had this much giddiness over new beauty products in quite awhile. Obviously I then I HAD to try it out and after watching the Facebook Live video that Sigma did + the Snapchat stories various beauty bloggers did with this set, I finally felt confident to give it a try myself.
If you haven't heard about the Baking & Strobing Brush Set, make sure to watch that awesome Facebook video and you'll have this technique down solid. I, for one, had never even heard of these two techniques before but I can't believe how easy they are to add into what I do on a daily basis already. I then set out on finding out what these terms meant, and actually found a decent amount of information on them. According to StyleCaster + makeup artist, Jamie Greenberg, baking is commonly used with:

"...concealer and a translucent loose powder to highlight an area of your face. Greenberg says that you’re applying concealer and then a lot of powder over top, letting it sit for about 10 to 20 minutes. She says you can apply the powder by taking a regular sponge, ripping it in half, and pressing it onto the concealer. “You want it to be very visible. The more powder the better,” says Greenberg."
While Laura Keller of StyleCaster says strobing's most important step is:"...highlighting all the right places. It’s all about brightening up your face, so think of where the light naturally would hit you. Dab a highlighter onto the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your cupid’s bow to highlight the main areas of your face."

Here is how I used this set for the first time!
1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer: Apply primer all over face to set the skin.
2. NYX Cosmetics Stay Matte Not Flat Foundation: Apply like you normally would with your beauty blender, covering your entire face/neck.
3. tarte cosmetics Maracuja Creaseless Concealer: This is where it gets fun, and the new brush kit comes into play. First though, apply concealer with your finger to the upper part of your cheeks and under the eyes.
4. F79 Concealer Blend Kabuki: Blend concealer with this brush under the eyes, and upper cheek. Gives a full-coverage finish to the skin.
5. Stay Matte Not Flat Powder Foundation: This powder is so nice because it matches the foundation I already used, so it's basically a set and you don't have to worry about different colors happening.
6. F89 Bake Kabuki: Exclusively from Sigma, this angled kabuki brush has a flat edge designed to apply powder foundation right up to the lower lash line. Press powder as firmly as you can into the skin.
7. P89 Bake Precision: This is a smaller version of the F89, but has the same angled head and flat side to apply concealer and powder right under the eye.
BAKE FOR 5-10 MINUTES
8. F06 Powder Sweep: Take this small powder bush and sweep the excess powder from under the eyes for a clean finish.
9. F42 Strobing Fan: I absolutely love this brush, and I'm so excited to finally have it in my collection. It's a fan-shaped highlighting brush, designed to flawlessly apply and diffuse powder and cream products. I decided to have a little fun with the color of my highlight and used the Loose Shimmer Powder from Sigma in 'Felicity.'
What do you think of the final look?! This entire process, including my eye makeup and other touch-ups, took about 25-35 minutes! It's super easy to incorporate into your routine, it's also a LOT of fun to play with all of the brushes since they're so unique and can actually be used in multiple ways! That being said, you can purchase the brushes by themselves, in pairs or get the best deal and buy the entire set together. I'd highly recommend the last one.
Thank you so much to Sigma Beauty for this absolutely beautiful Brush Set, and for creating such unique and multi-functional tools for people who are still getting used to applying makeup and using it everyday.
Always,
Mostly Lisa

Product: e.l.f. Daily Hydration Moisturizer ($8)
Benefits: Easy application, with a dewy & refreshing finish. Leaves skin feeling smooth and hydrated for several hours, even after putting makeup over it. Lightweight and lightly scented.
Ingredients: Purified water, Jojoba, aloe, Vitamin E, cucumber. Antioxidants such as; Shea butter, grape and orange.
Con: I really only have one negative problem with this product, and it's probably just because my skin can be extra sensitive sometimes. I've noticed that after applying the moisturizer, my cheeks get extra red and stay that way for a few minutes until the product has fully been absorbed in my skin. Again, this may just be my fair skin overacting, but I definitely need to let it calm down before applying anything else.
Product: First Aid Beauty Vitamin Hydrating Mist ($17)
Benefits: Easy application, with a energetic and replenishing finish. Specially formulated for sensitive skin and helps reduce redness. Leaves skin with instant hydration + dewy skin. Has a lovely scent that is not overwhelming, it reminds me of cucumbers! Protects against wind.
Ingredients: Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Vitamin C and FAB Antioxidant Booster.

To end the first week of 2016, I wanted to bring another new series into the mix. Friday Fancy is going to be filled with different inspiring words, people who I adore, photography that moves me, or anything in between to make the weekend be something magical. I'm moving on some extra motivation right now, and so I wanted to share with all of you. For the first Fancy, here are five quotes to get you inspired for whatever the upcoming weekend/week has in store for you. This idea actually came from my own inspiration, by way of one of my favorite bloggers, Katie Armour Taylor. Happy Friday! Photo via Dean James.
- "If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." - Ronald Dahl
- "Creativity is intelligence having fun." - Albert Einstein
- "I don't think sadness is always devastating. It can be quite uplifting and joyful as well. Sometimes you have to allow yourself to be sad in order to move forward." - Adele
- "I don't dress to be stared at. I dress for myself." - Iris Apfel
- "For what it's worth: it's never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you're proud of, and if you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start over." - F. Scott Fitzgerald
