Gifting the he/hims and they/thems in your life can be pretty tricky - especially since you usually don't get a solid response on what they actually want. Finally being in a relationship though has opened my eyes to the subtle ways they can tell you what they like, without having to tell them to do anything! What do they like to do ALL the time? What interests them when they're searching the internet or when you're going shopping at Target with them? What a relief it is to have clear communication with a guy for the first time!

I do know that I tend to reference the same items every time I've done this guide in the past, but it's what works and it tends to always please! So please enjoy and let's get into my next guide - for the lads!

Each year is the same old loaded question..'What the heck do men want for Christmas?' & 'Do they even know what a wishlist is?' And every year, I somehow manage to answer those questions and put together a Gift Guide by the scrape of my teeth. Whether it is a pair of socks, a shaving kit or something reliable, I usually have the same old, same old when it comes to ideas for those good 'ol dudes. However, for the FIRST time in the five years I have been doing this, I can successfully say I did not have to pull any teeth out to find gifts to love for him! That deserves a high five, right?!

For this year, I was thinking more unique ideas that you would not normally get him every year. Go ahead and spoil him. He may say he already has everything, but I can bet you he wouldn't expect a bike for Christmas! What about a monthly subscription to a curated book club (make sure to click the link and sign up with my referral link!) or suede Doc Martens? Yeah, I didn't think so.... Shop all the ideas below!

Welcome to the second day of the #mostlylisagiftguide series! Today is all about those guys, the dudes, for him. This one is always the hardest for me, mostly because whenever I ask a guy I know in my life what he wants for the holidays, he never gives me a clear answer. For example, my dad always tells me he already has everything he wants and that I shouldn't bother getting him something for Christmas. Why must he be so difficult?! It doesn't always have to be bad though, especially if you can hone in on something that they really enjoy. My brother-in-law really enjoys nerdy things like I do, so I have multiple unique items to pick from. If I had a boyfriend, I could choose from a variety of flannels or a cologne that he enjoyed..I might have a type. -wink,wink- See, there's always a silver lining! Some of my favorites from this guide have to be; Julien Solomita's x Free Radical's Popsicle Pin (might be sold out right now, but he said he's restocking), and the fancy wool beanie from Paul Smith! Make sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram for daily sneek peaks of the giveaway that is going up on Friday! I'll be sharing previews throughout the week leading up to the big day.

As it always happens during my gift guide series, finding ideas for guys seems to be the hardest thing to do. You either find just what you're looking for, or you don't find anything that is remotely interesting. This gift guide was supposed to go up yesterday, but I had some difficulties finding items that would be different from what I've previously done. I'm pretty proud though of what I found, and each gift idea is something I would give to any guy in my life. This time around, it doesn't have to be last minute for him because there are some pretty unique gifts out there this year. The absolutely favorite of mine in this guide is the Gentleman's Writing Set from Anthropologie! An online exclusive from the British brand, Chase & Wonder, this gorgeous hand-printed box comes with hand-pressed writing sheets and fifteen matching envelopes. How amazing is that?

Let me know what you'd get your special guy this year! I'd love any recommendations that I might not have come across while looking over and over. Also, if you saw yesterday on my Instagram, I gave a little preview of one of the gifts that will be apart of the #mostlylisagiftguide giveaway! There will be special previews until the giveaway goes live next week, make sure to keep a lookout!

Because you can't forget the men, right? I may not be in a relationship, but at least I know I'd be ready to pick out these great ideas. This might also reveal what I look for in a guy.... so there's that too. All of these are under $100 too!

For my second installment of the Mostly Lisa Holiday Gift Guide 2014, I received a great suggestion to focus on the 'Dad Who Hates Christmas' from my friend Sarah C.! This pretty much turned into me finding items for someone who you could potentially call 'The Grinch' during this time of year.... I've been that person, a few of my family members have been that person, and I'm sure this year is going to be no different for a lot of people around the world (understandably..) Buying for men is hard anyways, and so this task of finding gifts that would be unique and fun was a challenge for me. I do think I did quite alright though, what do you guys think?! Shop all of these items below, and let me know what you're buying for that man in your life.

P.S. Don't forget to enter my BaubleBar giveaway! There are 3 days left for you to enter, and I wish you all the luck! Thank you so much to everyone who has participated, I can't wait to see who wins! Expect a nice little package from yours truly, just in time for the holidays.

While I have only ever bought a gift for my father on this holiday, Valentine's Day gifts for the men in our lives are always a little tricky. We quintessentially think of this holiday as just for the girls, and rightfully so, but I think it's nice to try to keep in mind that gifts for guys can be manly and romantic at the same time. Here are some ideas that I came up with that you can get for your dad, brother, boyfriend, husband, etc. Hope they help!

"One Pan, Two Plates" Cookbook ($25) : This book is a great idea to get for your significant other before the actual holiday, so then you can plan ahead and cook something together! Whip up something tasty and know you had fun making it.

Cupid Heart Print Boxers ($13) : These boxers from Gap are so cute/sexy and would be a great gag gift to give your boyfriend or husband.

D&G The One For Men ($62) : I've smelled this cologne in stores and it is heavenly. Buy it for your man!

You're A Fox Card ($5) : This card from Rifle Paper Co. is the perfect way to express your feelings for your boy-toy and not be too cheesy about it.

Keds Champion Spring ($45) : Keeping up with the theme of the holiday, these Keds sneakers are manly enough that your BF could wear them with any neutral outfit.

Poplin Shirt ($20) : If you're planning on going out to dinner on the special night, make sure he looks clean cut and handsome in this perfect button down.

Wayfarer Sunglasses ($4) : I am a weak-in-the-knees kind-of gal for a man who wears sunglasses. Just make sure he doesn't wear them at night.

The Beer Pong Socks ($8) : It's beer, Ping-Pong and affordable. Can't go wrong with that.

Beats by Dr. Dre Halo Headphones ($200) : These are a little more expensive, but I've only heard amazing things about these headphones. Again with the theme of the holiday, these headphones keep out distracting noise and are fashionable.

Wallace & Barnes Wallet ($68) : This J.Crew accordion wallet is made of leather and comes in a great color. Make sure your man brings it with him whenever you go out to eat, so he can pay for you.

Forage Stripe Bow Tie ($70) : I've never heard of Nest Dallas before, but their little online shop has some great items. This bow tie is one of them, and would look great with that white button shirt!

Rhino Art Print ($8) : Etsy is a great place to look for handmade gifts and items! When I came across this print that takes old books and enlarges different animals over the text, I thought what a great idea to put on this gift guide. It's different and original and would look great in your man's office.

Color-Block Pocket Tee ($20) : You just can't go wrong with a basic shirt that has a subtle twist to it! Not only are these tees super comfy, they last a long time also.

Hershey's Kisses ($2) : If you can't come up with anything else, give him a Hershey's Kiss and tons of love.

Always,
Mostly Lisa
