OUTFIT: Medium Wash Chambray Shirt (similar) | J.Crew Statement Necklace (similar) | Mesh Prom Skirt (similar) | Toile Clutch (similar) | Studded Mini-Heel (similar)
It might be five months since I purchased this skirt from SimplyBe, but I thought it was time to finally put together an outfit for my Fashion Friday series! I had posted a photo on IG when I first received it, and they posted it on theirs! What I love about this skirt is that it can be transitioned into spring if you wear the right type of accessories and/or top with it. I've been debating on what I wanted to pair it with for awhile now, but I think this chambray top from Old Navy does quite the trick. The J.Crew necklace that I've worn practically everything, goes beautifully with it also and adds just the right amount of sparkle to the outfit.
The sun has been shining on and off for the past couple weeks, but it's inspired me to try new things and take on new risks. It's crazy to think of how much your style can change over time, and mine has definitely grown and taken new turns. It's hard to put my finger on what type of style I have, and I've talked about this before but it's all over the place. If you could answer this question for me, what would you say? I'd honestly be intrigued as to what you'd say, because it'd be a lot of fun to define it when someone asks.
Other than trying to decipher what my style is, life has been pretty normal lately. I'm still in transition to finding that perfect dream job for myself, and it's probably the hardest thing I've ever faced. I've never applied to so many different positions and opportunities before, but they've all turned out negative. It's also probably the most draining thing I've ever experienced because of that, and I've gone through and live with depression. What is my college degree worth if I am not able to be in a career that I thoroughly enjoy and am so passionate about? There are a lot of times I want to give up, but luckily I have people who listen to my problems and care so that I don't. I guess we'll see what happens in the next year, so cross your fingers for me!!
Always,
Mostly Lisa

Love how casual but elegant this looks!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to face the same struggle you are so I feel you. Good luck! I hope you land a great job soon.
Thank you, Peggy! I tried to tone it down a little since it's not the holidays anymore, but I think it'd be a great look to wear to a party during summer though! :)
DeleteI appreciate the encouragement, it's been really tough and I'm hoping something will change soon. I hope it does the same for you also! xoxo
