After the success of posting this photo on my Instagram, I've decided to take the plunge and fulfill my dream of having mermaid hair. #mermaidhairdontcare, am I right?! Especially now that it's so easy to color your hair something crazy, and then have it be washed out just with shampoo!
I'm in an interesting point in my hair 'relationship' where I need to try something new. I think I'm going to grow it out during the spring and summer, and also go with a shade of this blue. The past few years I also tend to cut my hair once summer hits, just because my hair is so thick, but I think it will be fun to wear my hair up more often. Which hue of blue do you think I should do? The more pastel blue/green, or the darker teal? So many options, so little time!

I wasn't too fond of this color when I first saw it, but it's slowly growing on me. Especially since it reminds me so much of like a cranberry/burgundy color.. but nonetheless! Marsala is officially the color of 2015, which means that you can easily incorporate it into your wardrobe throughout the seasons! A seductive and classy color that is definitely inspired by wine, and is super versatile for any skin color. Check out these rich Marsala looks from designers Burberry Prorsum, No. 21 and Valentino.
The executive director for Pantone, Leatrice Eiseman, said in a press release that the color will bring us back to simpler times: "This tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness." Marsala is definitely more of a rich color, but what I like about it for spring is that it is more neutral and you can mix and match with it. There are so many different hues that the color comes in, you can dress it up or dress it down! Here's an outfit I would put together if I chose to opt for Marsala! What do you think of this Color of the Year?!

Hi friends! Today's post is all about St. Patrick's Day! I figured what better way to celebrate than to create my very own pot o'gold?! I'll be using this for personal use since I don't really know anyone else that loves this holiday as much as I do, but you can totally do this as a gift for friends, family or teachers! This D.I.Y. is super simple and took me about 30 minutes to finish, so I'll share everything that you need to start your project!
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Mini terracotta pot
- Black paint (I'm using fabric paint because it's all I had on hand.)
- Small painting brush
- Various colored markers
- Stapler
- Green construction paper
- Scissors
- Permanent black marker
- Newspaper
- Thin Mints
- Rolo candies
- Scotch tape
THE STEPS:
- Take your small terracotta pot and paint it black with your small paintbrush. Make sure to paint over some newspaper so you don't get the black paint on a surface you wouldn't want it on. Try and use the same strokes on the pot so it looks smooth and not messy, since the paint dries so quickly. Like I said, I used a fabric paint and it dries in probably two minutes. Also, you can really use any pot you have on hand because you're painting it over with such a dark color.
- While the pot is drying, take your green construction paper and draw your version of a rainbow. I liked using colors that were similar to each other, and had the most vibrancy on the paper. Take your scissors and cut around the black lines.
- Take your scotch tape and apply two pieces to the bottom of the rainbow. Attach and press to the rim of one side of the pot. Try and angle it as much as you can, like the rainbow is literally inside the pot.
- Fill the pot with Thin Mints and Rolo candies, which will act as the gold at the end of the rainbow. I put the Thin Mints at the bottom and stacked them to show more of the Rolo candies.
- Take two Rolo candies and stick a piece of Scotch tape to the back. Attach the two Rolo candies to the bottom of the rain, and then you are finished!
What do you guys think of my Pot O'Gold D.I.Y.? I had so much fun making this and like I said above, it's super easy and takes about 30 minutes to finish. I hope you have just as much fun making them yourselves! Have a very Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It has been so beautiful outside the past couple of days, that I've been finally been able to bring out some lighter pieces into my daily outfits. Spring is right around the corner, and my wardrobe is so happy about it. Not only that, but there's now only four more sleeps until St. Patrick's Day!! Which just so happens to be the theme behind today's Fashion Friday, so I hope you enjoy! It's been way too long since I posted on of these, and I figured what better time to do it? Is anyone else excited for next Tuesday? My room is all decorated, and I'm ready to drink some green beer on Saturday for a pre-celebration with friends. Make sure to wear green so you don't get pinched!
I wore this look yesterday after finding this beautiful jacquard dress, (I will admit it's maternity, but I sometimes I can only wear that style from GAP) which I then turned into a jacket! How cool is that? The material is so thick that I now I have two outfits in one, and only had to pay $3 for it... The necklace that's paired with this, is one of my favorites from ModCloth and I consistently get compliments when I wear it. Then obviously the top from Lane Bryant is one of my favorites, it's very flattering on and has a nice V-neck insert that shows just enough. I'll definitely be wearing this outfit again. Have a wonderful weekend!

The one thing I enjoy most about Instagram is the fact that it can inspire me on a daily basis. I'm always on the lookout for a good feed of images that will essentially make my day better, and Shini Park is at the top of that list! Owner of the beautiful blog, Park & Cube, Shini has been on my radar for a very long time since she is based in London, and we all know how much I love London! Her overall social media presence is inspiring in itself, and she's built a very successful brand across the pond. I particularly love her Instagram because she posts photos of her daily life, her dynamic style and her impeccable photography skills! Most of that includes scenery of the beautiful city she lives in, and so the hashtag #SparkyxLondon gives me life because it's like you're stepping into a British daydream. Above are some of my favorite photos in that tag, so enjoy and make sure to follow along with her escapades on her Instagram and Twitter!

I am now dreaming of spring to be here. With the weather going all the way up into the 50s next week, I'm so ready to bring out my short-sleeve tees and flats again. It's calling my name and so are these embossed suede ankle strap flats. That Markus Lupfer Mermaid sweater is pretty fabulous also, especially with a pair of ankle pants?! Yes, please.
