Grand Dame: My great-great-grandmother's portrait hung in the university up until the Revolution. By then, the truth of their romance had been reduced to a simple fairy tale. And, while Cinderella and her prince did live happily ever after, the point, gentlemen, is that they lived

There's been a lot of buzz around a few blogs I follow about this gorgeous ad campaign for Valentino's Spring 2015 collection, and I had to get in on it! Seriously loving the mermaid vibes + wood nymph inspiration. I'm obsessed with the second photo, but OUCH submerging those dresses in water! What do you think? I'm excited to see what other designers will come up for the spring editorials.

Another Monday to add to our planners is upon us. I want to try and make this week as good as possible, and am hoping for good news early on in it. Let's just say, keep your fingers crossed for me and we'll see what happens! I've been becoming a bit of a homebody lately, and literally just working whenever I can to get out of the house for several hours at least. What have all of you been up to lately?! I'd love to hear, and hope you enjoy the weekly links below!

Happy Monday! It's hard to believe we're in the third week of this month already, well second 'full' week, and it's just speeding along. While nothing particularly special happens in this month for me, I've been trying to make the best of it since it can be pretty draining. January tends to be the most depressing time for me, just with the weather and not having a lot of sunlight. I become a homebody a lot during this time because it's so cold. It's been horrible the past week with the temperatures reaching below 0, but here's hoping we get sunrays and at least 20 degree weather. I guess I'll just gaze at these photos and be inspired whenever I'm feeling down. What has been inspiring you lately?

"It was a large, handsome, stone building standing well on rising ground, and backed by a ridge of high woody hills; and in front, a stream of some natural importance was swelled into greater, but without any artificial appearance. Its banks were neither formal, nor falsely adorned."  - Jane Austen

Chatsworth House is a stately home in Derbyshire, England. It is the seat of the Duke of Devonshire and has been home to the Cavendish family since 1549. Standing on the east bank of the River Derwent, Chatsworth looks across to the low hills that divide the Derwent and Wye valleys. The house, set in expansive parkland and backed by wooded, rocky hills rising to heather moorland, contains a unique collection of priceless paintings, furniture, Old Master drawings, neoclassical sculptures, books and other artifacts. In Pride and Prejudice, Chatsworth was used as Pemberley, the residence of Mr. Darcy. It is believed that Jane Austen actually based her idea of Pemberley on Chatsworth House as she wrote the novel while in Bakewell.

Which brings me to the inspiration behind this post! Every single time I watch Pride and Prejudice or read the novel, I am in awe of the magnificence of the entire grounds that Chatsworth encompasses. This estate is probably one of the most breathtaking places I have ever seen. It is currently #1 on my bucket list to visit, and when I go to Europe in 2019 you better believe I'll be going here first! Make sure to listen to this song from the 2005 version of P&P, and you'll be whisked away into a dream-like space. I will have my headphones on when I first walk into the main entrance, and will be playing that song.. It is a dream of mine.

I'm a little surprised I'm talking about this, since I don't wear ivory at all really, but I was inspired to  after perusing through Pinterest. Winter whites can be really sophisticated and quite nice against a snowy backdrop. Like the color black, white is quite timeless and can be a chic touch to any outfit. This winter white is also very nice in accessories, so I'd definitely wear a scarf or even a beanie if I incorporated it into my wardrobe. You can also add this feminine hue to your home with fun details like a pillow or chair! I like that this off-white can be mixed with different textures and patterns too, so if you take the risk wearing this make sure to have fun when putting it together! Check out all of my picks below, and let me know what you think!

Happy 2015, everyone! I hope your celebrations treated you well, and you got a special kiss from someone at midnight. My night did not turn out the way I had planned, and I ended up having a few drinks by myself and watched some good movies. In this new year, I am looking forward to new inspirations and new opportunities to happen in some form. To start off with those new inspirations, I've changed the look of Mostly Lisa! I like the sleek, more sophisticated layout now and I hope you all do too! What do you guys think of the scrolling bar above? I can't tell if I like it or not....

As I did last year at this time, my first post of the year includes items to inspire the month of January. I am so looking forward to this 4-week extravaganza of Galavant, and the premiere was last night! I haven't laughed that hard in awhile, and I've already got the theme song stuck in my head. Go check it out! Also, I am dying over the iPhone case! What a perfect quote, and definitely something to keep in mind all year round. Thank you, J.K. Rowling.

Here's to an even better year for everyone personally, emotionally, financially and everything in between. I'm excited to see where it will take me.
