I received an email a week or so ago that invited me to join a contest to attend the WWDMAGICWEEK tradeshow in Las Vegas this August. The rules are: find a favorite brand on the list and make a blog post about them. Scrolling through the list, the name that easily popped out at me was Betsey Johnson. While some people now think of the brand as the one that went bankrupt, I still see a fun and flirty brand that has picked itself up from the ashes. With collections (the above being one of my favorites) still being shown down the runway, and a new show on Style Network, Betsey is not slowing down. I guess you could say I am a loyal follower of Betsey. In fact, she was one of the first brands I followed on Twitter. What's really cool is that she followed me back!! (Score +100 for me!)

With an iconic image that started back in the late '70s, Betsey Johnson has trademarked herself into the fashion industry. We can't forget the signature cartwheel she does after every show. That is probably what is so memorable about her for me, that even though she may be older, she's still young at heart. I like a designer that doesn't take themselves too seriously. Fashion is supposed to be fun and with her collections, you can be fun and sexy at the same time. Her collections range from quirky to whimsical. She has invested in baby-doll dresses, floral sequined jackets, and striped rompers. Her accessories are some of my absolute favorites: I own two purses, a wallet, and even some jewelry. They can add a perfect addition to any wardrobe, and make you feel glamorous.

With such an iconic brand, I can only hope that she'll be around for several more years to come. I, for one, would love to see what she has in store next!

So in my Spring quarter I was required to take a Contemporary Art class. This consisted of learning about art from the start of Romanticism in the 1800s, all the way to today's modern art in the 2000s. It was a very intriguing class to take, since I am such a visual person it was a lot of fun to look and study different artists and what actually defines a piece of art. Nowadays I look to digital illustrations, concept art, computer animation, etc. as the new form of art. We can now see art transforming the way designers find their own inspiration for their own masterpieces. These can actually hang in your wardrobe, instead of on your wall.

Enjoy these eye-pleasing pieces!!

I am all for a great designer collaboration with an affordable retail store that anyone can shop at. So finding out that WHIT and Anthropologie were going to be combing their aesthetics, I jumped up and down! (LITERALLY) It is part of their Made In Kind collection also! While I am not a petite frame, I still think this collection is gorgeous to look at. Luckily they have a separate collection for women up to size 12! It's perfect for this summer with happy prints, a boho inspiration, and preppy hues. Hope one of you readers can purchase something from this collection and rock a gorgeous frock. Here are some of my favs!

So ladies, what do you think of this collaboration?! Have you see any other worthy collaborations out there lately?

So, my 24th birthday is this Wednesday (6/12) and I thought it would be fun to put together a wish list of some items that have caught my eye lately. Most of these items I'd never be able to afford, but hey a girl can dream right?  I've been coveting most of these items for awhile, I do hope that maybe I can purchase one of them for myself. Which one would you buy?!
It feels weird to say I'm going to be 24. I guess everyone kind-of hits that point where they realize they are almost a half a decade old. Just think, you've been on this planet for almost 25 years. Where did the time go?! Then you start asking yourself (or at least I have) what have you done with your life?  Have you accomplished what you thought you were going to? I guess I have one more year to really try and succeed at what I want to do, and I have to look back and just be grateful of everything I already have done. It's pretty crazy at all the opportunities that I've been able to be apart of, and I just hope that I can be apart of more in the future. I just want to be happy and be content with life. That's all I can ask for.

Mostly Lisa
I thought I would do something a little personal for my first post of June. I decided to have a little look into my life, with reference from my Instagram. Oh, that lovely site. If you have one, follow me! My username is piccadillytown! I use it almost daily and it is a great recollection of life. I post pictures of everyday things, my dog Frodo, my favorite little nephew, and inspiration from my blog and other fun things. When I was in New York last summer I posted all the time and it's fun to look back at where I went while I was there. Here are some of my favorite photos I've ever posted. Enjoy!

What do you post about on your Instagram? Anything fun? Let me know your usernames and I'll follow you!
